Privacy Policy

Vinewell is a wine journal and cellar app operated by Vinewell LLC (“Vinewell,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Vinewell is still in development, so this policy may change as the app does.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, date of birth (we require members to be 21 or older), and your password, which is stored in a protected form.
- What you add: tastings, ratings, notes, your cellar, wines you pin, photos of wine labels and menus, and your taste preferences.
- Social features: friend requests, shared cellars, and posts you choose to share with friends.
- Usage information: which features you use and when, so we can find problems and improve the app.
- Invitations: if you ask us to invite a friend, we keep that friend’s name and email to review the request and send the invitation.
How we use it
- To run the app: your journal, cellar, palate profile, and wine recommendations.
- To read label and menu photos and to power the sommelier chat and other AI features.
- To improve the shared wine catalog, so that wine details become more accurate for everyone.
- To keep the service secure, prevent misuse, and respond to your questions.
AI features
Some features send the content you provide, such as a label photo, a menu, your tasting history, or a chat message, to an AI provider so it can generate a result. We use that content to give you the result and to operate the service. We do not sell it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that host and run Vinewell, including our database and hosting providers and our AI provider.
- Other members, only as you choose, such as friends you accept, cellars you share, and posts you make.
- Authorities, if the law requires it or to protect our rights and users.
Your wine details that match a shared catalog record, such as a producer, wine name, or label image, may be added to the catalog that all members see. Your name and personal notes are not part of the catalog.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal data, except what we must keep for legal or security reasons.
Your choices
- You can view and update your profile and preferences in the app.
- You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your information.
- You can control who sees your cellar and posts through the app’s sharing and friend settings.
Security
We use industry-standard protections, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Age requirement
Vinewell is for adults of legal drinking age (21 or older in the United States). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, when appropriate, let you know in the app or by email.
